RRP Performance Ignition Coil System MKII Complete Kit & Ignition Leads
Ryan Rotary Performance MKII plug and play custom ignition coil system with lifetime warranty* These are the only aftermarket performance coil system that have been designed from the ground up for the Mazda Rx8 (Series 1 & 2 ). These will outperform OEM ignition systems which output 45mj’s of spark energy, these performance coils output 96mj’s of energy!!!
No more conversion wiring looms or add-hoc brackets, these coils will fit the OEM bracket and OEM ignition leads. In addition they do not require your car to be remapped like every other performance system on the market, these are designed to work with the OEM ECU settings.
Not compatible with D585 coil ECU settings, using these settings will damage the coils system and void the warranty.
S2/R3 owners will need to cut two spigots off the mounting bracket to fit the coils (about 5 mins work with a dremel)

MSD 8.5mm Superconductor Ignition Lead.
The MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor spark plug wire sets feature a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot—but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire includes 40 ft. of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference “choke.” This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. A tough, 8.5mm synthetic/silicone jacket over an extra-heavy glass braid and dielectric insulator keeps the current guided to the plugs. Underneath the high-temperature boots, dual crimp stainless steel terminals feature snap-locks to ensure a secure fit.
These kits are custom made for Ryan Rotary Performance and are the recommended ignition lead set for our coil system.

I own a series 1 RX-8 and wanted something to replace my stock coils. I decided to go with the mk2 coils and the MSD leads.
Fitting them was easy enough as they fit onto a stock setup. No need to alter brackets or dwell timings. A straight swap and they're good to go.
For me, I've felt the start up is quicker and a smoother run through my rev range.

The very second you turn the key with this new system installed, you notice the difference. You get:

I did have to make some adjustments to the mounting plate on my R3 as it is different from the S1, but this can be done in situe and with little effort. You'll want an angle grinder and a hammer handy if you plan to fit this coils to an R3!
