The Ryan Rotary Performance (RRP) Low Mount Turbo Kit essential MKII is the eagerly awaited mid-level ‘support’ kit from our comprehensive low-mount turbo system. After extensive design, development, and real-world testing, we’ve created a no-compromise “essential support” package built entirely around the RX‑8 platform.
This system delivers a true bolt‑on experience. Every major component is bespoke, designed specifically for the RX‑8 rather than adapted from generic turbo hardware. Despite the RX‑8 never being intended for forced induction, the MKII kit requires minimal modification which was one of our major design constraints.

Turbo Manifold:
At the heart of the kit is our billet stainless steel turbo manifold, designed to accommodate the largest practical low‑mount turbochargers for the RX‑8.
- CNC‑machined from 304 stainless steel for precision and durability;
- Internal geometry optimised to maximise exhaust gas flow;
- Integrated mounting provision for a 45mm external wastegate;
- Designed around the Xona Rotor XR7864S (our prototype choice), with compatibility across the X2C range with only minor adjustments.
This manifold is engineered to give you the most headroom possible in a low‑mount configuration.
The Intercooler:
Our stunning RRP intercooler, with a custom core from the well renowned Pro Alloy and perfectly fabricated by Inspired Motorsport, a work-of-art piece that integrates seamlessly with OEM bumper mounting points for effortless installation.
This is a true OEM‑plus solution:
- Direct fitment using factory mounting points;
- Integrated toe‑thread support;
- Rated for up to 400 HP airflow capability;
- RRP kit supported to 11 PSI spring pressure, yielding 330–350 HP in typical setups.
For power levels beyond this, additional upgrades outside the scope of this kit will be required.
Hardware:
further support elements in this kit include the RRP right engine mount bracket, along with a right specific RRP engine mount (those that already own RRP engine mounts can be provided with just the new insert).
The included boost and intake piping is precisely sized to complement the OEM intake system while maximizing flow efficiency from the selected turbo.

FAQ’s
What will I need to finish off the install?
You will require a Turbo unit, aftermarket ECU such as the Haltech Rx8 PNP with 02 control & Air temperature sensor.
You’ll also need to modify the OEM to accept an oil return from the turbo, or simply purchase the RRP Billet Sump.
Is the kit suitable for both RHD & LHD vehicle’s?
Yes the kit works for both LHD & RHD vehicles.
Do you need to relocate the battery for this kit?
If you wish to keep the OEM battery this will need to be relocated, there is room in the original location for a smaller or lithium battery.
